The Central Savannah River Area Regional Commission was awarded a $735,000 project grant from the Department of Commerce Economic Development Administration's Economic Development Support for Planning Organizations program to develop and implement a Comprehensive Economic Development Strategy (CEDS) for the region spanning 13 counties in Georgia. Through 2025, the Commission will use the funding to facilitate a collaborative public-private sector planning process to create an economic roadmap aimed at diversifying and strengthening the regional economy. As part of the CEDS, the Commission will analyze regional economic conditions and trends and identify strategic initiatives, projects, and programs to support job growth and business expansion across Burke, Columbia, Glascock, Hancock, Jefferson, Jenkins, Lincoln, McDuffie, Richmond, Taliaferro, Warren, Washington, and Wilkes counties.
