This $746,573 federal Project Grant award from the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD) under the Continuum of Care (CoC) Program (CFDA 14.267) supports efforts by the Community Partnership for the Prevention of Homelessness (The Community Partnership) to quickly house homeless individuals and families in the Washington, D.C. area while minimizing trauma and promoting self-sufficiency. The funding allows The Community Partnership, a minority- and woman-owned non-profit community development corporation, to provide a range of housing assistance and homelessness prevention services, including rapid rehousing, rental assistance, housing counseling, operation of shelters and transitional housing, case management, mental health/substance abuse treatment, and job training. The organization also redistributes portions of the grant funding through sub-awards to other local non-profit homeless assistance providers as part of its community-wide approach to addressing housing insecurity. The award period runs from March 11, 2025 to December 31, 2026.
