The U.S. Department of the Interior's Office of Insular Affairs (OIA) awarded a $285,000 Project Grant to the U.S. Virgin Islands' Office of Management & Budget (OMB) Division on April 25, 2024 under the Economic, Social, and Political Development of the Territories program (CFDA 15.875). The grant funding will be used to upgrade the audio-visual technology in the territory's Emergency Operation Center, with a final completion date of September 30, 2028. As the central administrative agency for the U.S. Virgin Islands government, OMB manages and coordinates a wide range of federal grant projects aimed at strengthening healthcare, infrastructure, public safety, and other critical areas. This grant represents one of several OIA-funded initiatives OMB has overseen, including climate adaptation, library rehabilitation, and broadband expansion efforts.
