The National Endowment for the Humanities (NEH) awarded a $148,312 Project Grant under the Promotion of the Humanities Challenge Grants program (CFDA 45.130) to Mendocino County Public Broadcasting (KZYX) to establish a new broadcast and production studio that will serve as a hub for the organization's humanities programming. The award, granted on September 1, 2024, will support Phase 3 of KZYX's construction and renovation project, allowing the organization to complete the project and enter the closure stage by the ultimate completion date of August 31, 2025. The new studio facility in Ukiah, California will greatly expand KZYX's capacity to connect its rural and remote region of Northern California with humanities programming both on the air and through live benefit concerts offered throughout the year.
