Description
As the demand for our services increases, we need to renovate our building to keep up with those demands. Our 5,200 square foot building is 40 years old and prior to our acquisition in 2011 IT was a church. With these funds we will be replacing the 40 year old roof, and doing an alteration/renovation of the building's interior to make IT more conducive to our current and future needs. These renovations include expanding the size of our patient waiting room by incorporating the current garage space, moving and expanding the size of our dental clinic to accommodate the demand, adding additional patient restrooms which are ADA compliant, creating separate men and women staff bathrooms, converting unused space to create 2 new exam rooms for a total of 5, a dedicated provider and volunteer area, administrative offices and a new optometry suite. The back portion of the facility is on a slab. As such the concrete slab foundation will need to be cut in order to run the proper plumbing lines to the proposed exam rooms, and staff bathrooms. We will also be upgrading the electrical to meet current code as well as current and future need by ensuring there is both 110 and 220 service available. These alterations/renovations will allow US to keep up with the ever growing demand for our services, and continue to be the safety net clinic for over 5,000 people in southeast michigan.
