The U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD) awarded a $741,917 Continuum of Care Program (CFDA 14.267) grant to the Housing Authority of the City of Los Angeles (HACLA) on March 11, 2025. The funding will support HACLA's efforts to quickly house homeless individuals and families in the Los Angeles area, while minimizing trauma and promoting their self-sufficiency. Eligible activities under the grant include permanent supportive housing, rapid rehousing, transitional housing, supportive services, homeless management information systems (HMIS), and potentially homelessness prevention. The Continuum of Care Program aims to establish a community-wide commitment to ending homelessness through collaborations between nonprofit organizations, state/local governments, and public housing agencies. Specific sub-recipient activities are not yet known at the time of this award. The grant will contribute to HACLA's broader portfolio of federal housing assistance programs that total tens of millions of dollars, including Continuum of Care, Public Housing Operating Fund, and Public Housing Capital Fund grants.
