The Department of Housing and Urban Development's Assistant Secretary for Community Planning and Development awarded $261,712 to the County of Riverside Housing and Workforce Solutions Division on February 1, 2026, under the Continuum of Care Program (CFDA 14.267). The award supports eligible costs to establish and operate Continuum of Care projects in Riverside, California through January 31, 2027. The program funds five components: permanent housing (including permanent supportive housing for persons with disabilities and rapid rehousing), transitional housing, supportive services only, Homeless Management Information Systems (HMIS), and homelessness prevention. Eligible activities include COC planning, United Funding Agency costs for fiscal control and accounting, acquisition and rehabilitation of real property for housing or supportive services, and new construction. The Continuum of Care Program is designed to promote community-wide commitment to ending homelessness, provide funding for nonprofit providers, states, and local governments to quickly house homeless individuals and families while minimizing trauma and dislocation, promote access to mainstream programs, and optimize self-sufficiency.
