The U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD) awarded the Los Angeles Homeless Services Authority (LAHSA), a U.S. local government entity, a $1,048,064 Continuum of Care (CoC) Program grant. The CoC Program (CFDA 14.267) funds efforts by nonprofit providers, states, and local governments to rapidly rehouse homeless individuals and families while minimizing the trauma and dislocation caused by homelessness.
The grant will support a range of eligible activities, including permanent housing, transitional housing, rapid rehousing, supportive services, homeless management information systems (HMIS), and potentially homelessness prevention. Specific sub-recipient activities are unknown at the time of award. The project period runs from June 1, 2024 to May 31, 2025, with the goal of decreasing the number of individuals and families experiencing homelessness through performance measures such as reduced length of homelessness, fewer returns to homelessness, and more exits to permanent housing.
