The Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD) awarded a $2,619,591 Continuum of Care Program (CFDA 14.267) grant to the Los Angeles Homeless Services Authority (LAHSA) on March 11, 2025. The purpose of this Project Grant is to promote community-wide strategies to quickly rehouse homeless individuals and families in the Los Angeles area, while minimizing trauma and promoting self-sufficiency.
LAHSA, the lead agency for the Los Angeles Continuum of Care, will use the grant funds to provide a range of eligible services, including permanent housing, transitional housing, supportive services, homeless management information systems (HMIS), and homelessness prevention. The organization will directly deliver these services as well as distribute funds to nonprofit homeless services providers and local governments to implement community-wide strategies to address homelessness in the greater Los Angeles area. The grant supports LAHSA's efforts to decrease the number of individuals and families experiencing homelessness, reduce the length of time spent homeless, prevent returns to homelessness, and increase exits to permanent housing.
