The U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD) awarded a $125,876 Continuum of Care Program (CFDA 14.267) grant to the Los Angeles Homeless Services Authority (LAHSA) on March 11, 2025. The grant funding will be used to promote community-wide strategies to end homelessness in the Los Angeles area. Specifically, the grant will support a range of eligible activities, including permanent housing, transitional housing, supportive services, homeless management information systems (HMIS), and homelessness prevention. LAHSA, as the lead agency for the Los Angeles Continuum of Care, will both directly deliver these services and distribute funds to nonprofit homeless services providers and local governments to implement comprehensive approaches to quickly rehouse homeless individuals and families while minimizing trauma and optimizing self-sufficiency. The grant aims to decrease the number of individuals and families experiencing homelessness by improving performance indicators such as length of time homeless, returns to homelessness, and exits to permanent housing.
