The Department of Homelessness & Supportive Housing in San Francisco received a $6,188,568 Continuum of Care Program (CFDA 14.267) grant award from the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD) on March 11, 2025. This Project Grant funding will be used to support a range of eligible activities under the Continuum of Care Program, which is designed to promote community-wide efforts to quickly rehouse homeless individuals and families while minimizing the trauma of homelessness. The award will enable the department to provide permanent housing, transitional housing, supportive services, homeless management information systems (HMIS), and homelessness prevention assistance to individuals and families experiencing homelessness in San Francisco. Key services may include housing placement, rental assistance, case management, job training, mental health and substance abuse treatment, and other supportive programs. The department's mission is to address homelessness and revitalize low-income neighborhoods through a comprehensive approach combining direct assistance to individuals and broader community development efforts.
