This Project Grant award from the National Endowment for the Humanities (NEH) Promotion of the Humanities Teaching and Learning Resources and Curriculum Development program (CFDA 45.162) provides $149,842 to Kansas State University (KSU) to create public-facing digital resources such as annotated treaties, oral histories, educational videos, and curricula. The goal is to augment humanities education in Kansas by promoting understandings about Indigenous peoples and histories as a best teaching practice within the university and across the state. This 3-year project, beginning May 1, 2024, centers Indigenous knowledges, perspectives, and voices to infuse place-based understandings into KSU's teaching methods and offer an example of how land-grant institutions can engage with their complicated histories through humanities education.
