The University of Kansas Center for Research Inc. was awarded $336,638.31 under the Promotion of the Humanities Professional Development federal grant program by the National Endowment for the Humanities for the period of October 1, 2016 through December 31, 2017.
The award supported the development and delivery of curriculum and professional training on the topic of "Teaching the 'Long Hot Summer' of 1967 and Beyond." The program aimed to promote better teaching and research of American history and culture for higher education faculty and K-12 educators through institutes and professional development opportunities, in alignment with the objectives of the Promotion of the Humanities Professional Development program to enhance instruction in the humanities.
