The U.S. Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration (FMCSA) awarded a $1,319,798 Project Grant to the Delaware Department of Transportation (DelDOT) under the Motor Carrier Safety Assistance High Priority Activities Grants and Cooperative Agreements (CFDA 20.237) program. This 4-year award supports the operation, maintenance, and enhancement of DelDOT's core motor carrier information technology systems, including the IRP, IFTA, and CVIEW systems. It also funds DelDOT's participation in IRP, IFTA, and other motor carrier associations and initiatives, as well as augmentation of the state's Truck Parking Information System (TPIS). The grant objectives are to maintain compliance with FMCSA program requirements, apply system upgrades, and enhance data quality and sharing to improve commercial vehicle safety through better route planning and regulatory compliance for drivers. As the state transportation agency, DelDOT will continue to issue IRP cab cards and plates, collect fees, and transmit data to the IRP Clearinghouse.
