The Minnesota Department of Public Safety was awarded a $1,724,200 Project Grant from the Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration's Commercial Driver's License Program Implementation Grant to support the transition to the American Association of Motor Vehicle Administrator's modernized CDL skills testing model. Under the award, the Department will implement software allowing third party proctors to administer commercial driver's license knowledge tests and automatically transmit results to the Minnesota Driver Database. The Department will also procure 210 rugged tablets enabling examiners to securely transmit test results upon completion. The four-year award provides funding to support ongoing operations and maintenance of the new CDL skills testing system through September 2026.
