The American Association of Motor Vehicle Administrators (AAMVA) was awarded a $4,432,553 project grant from the Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration to maintain the Commercial Skills Testing Information Management System and Report Out of State Test Results infrastructure. AAMVA will also conduct engineering enhancements to the Next Generation application and perform continuous security monitoring and assessments of the systems to meet requirements under the Federal Information Security Management Act. This funding supports the Commercial Driver's License Program Implementation Grant, which assists states in complying with CDL requirements and dedicates funding to priority activities relating to commercial drivers including research, demonstration projects, and special initiatives.
