About this award
The Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) Southwestern Region awarded $1,632,100 to the Tulsa Airports Improvement Trust (doing business as Tulsa Airport Authority) on July 9, 2025, under the Airport Improvement Program (CFDA 20.106) for comprehensive runway infrastructure improvements at a nonprimary airport serving the Tulsa, Oklahoma region. The grant supports three primary deliverables: reconstruction of runway lighting infrastructure that has exceeded its useful life; resealing and remarking of the western 1,739 feet of Runway 13/31 pavement to extend pavement longevity; and expansion of the western 900 feet of Runway 13/31 by an additional 10 feet in width to achieve conformity with current Federal Aviation Administration standards. The project is scheduled for completion by July 8, 2029, with performance occurring in Jenks, Oklahoma.
These infrastructure improvements align with the Airport Improvement Program's strategic objective to support development and modernization of airport infrastructure necessary for safe and efficient civil aviation operations. By addressing aging lighting systems, extending pavement service life through reseal and remark activities, and expanding runway width to meet contemporary standards, the grant will enhance safety, operational efficiency, and infrastructure resilience at the airport facility while supporting regional aviation connectivity in the Tulsa area.
