The Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) has awarded a $2,604,917.78 Project Grant under the Airport Improvement Program, COVID-19 Airports Programs, and Infrastructure Investment and Jobs Act Programs (CFDA 20.106) to the Missouri Department of Transportation (MoDOT) to reconstruct 2,581 feet of Runway 13/31 at the Nevada Municipal Airport (NVD) in Missouri. This project is funded through the Coronavirus Aid, Relief, and Economic Security (CARES) Act, which increased the federal share to 100% for Airport Improvement Program grants.
The grant will fund the first phase of runway reconstruction to maintain the structural integrity of the pavement and minimize foreign object debris. MoDOT will administer sub-awards to the City of Nevada, the local government entity responsible for the Nevada Municipal Airport, to carry out the runway reconstruction activities.
