Construct terminal

The Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) awarded the Meridian Airport Authority a $3.14 million Project Grant under the Airport Improvement Program (CFDA 20.106) on May 13, 2025, for the construction of airport terminal infrastructure in Meridian, Mississippi. This grant funds Phase 2 of a terminal development project, which encompasses the installation of building systems, interior buildout of a 22,793 square-foot passenger and baggage handling terminal, and construction of 700 feet of terminal access road. The project is scheduled for completion by May 12, 2029.

Under the FAA's Airport Improvement Program, which supports the development and modernization of airport infrastructure to meet civil aeronautics needs, this grant directly contributes to enhancing operational capabilities at the Meridian Regional Airport. The project deliverables—building systems installation, interior finishes, and access road construction—will enable the airport to accommodate passenger and baggage movement more efficiently, supporting long-term economic benefits and infrastructure resilience for the Meridian aviation community and the nine-state region served by the airport's facilities.
