About this award
The City of Dodge Center received a $478,464.21 Project Grant from the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) under the Airport Improvement Program (CFDA 20.106) on August 28, 2025, with an ultimate completion date of August 27, 2029. This grant funds Phase 1 design activities for three primary airport infrastructure projects at Dodge Center Airport: reconstruction of existing runway lighting systems that have reached the end of their useful life; reconstruction of runway end identifier lights for runway 16/34 at both threshold locations; and expansion of the existing fuel farm through the addition of one fuel tank to increase availability of existing fuel types.
The grant supports the airport's long-term sustainability objectives by enabling revenue generation through expanded fuel services while modernizing critical airfield infrastructure. The runway lighting and visual guidance system reconstruction projects address aging infrastructure components, enhancing airport safety and operational efficiency. As a design-phase project typical of Airport Improvement Program awards, this funding enables the City of Dodge Center to advance planning and engineering necessary to prepare for subsequent construction activities at this non-primary airport facility.
