Reconstruct taxilane; reconstruct apron

The Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) awarded the Michigan Department of Transportation (MDOT) a Project Grant totaling $345,729.47 under the Airport Improvement Program (CFDA 20.106) on August 12, 2025, with an ultimate completion date of August 11, 2029. This grant funds airport infrastructure improvements within Michigan's nonprimary airport system. Specifically, the award supports the reconstruction of a taxilane and apron at eligible airports served through the state block grant program.

MDOT will administer these funds as a State Block Grant Program grant, distributing federal resources to nonprimary airports throughout Michigan to support critical airfield infrastructure enhancements. The taxilane and apron reconstruction projects align with the FAA's strategic objectives to maintain a safe, efficient nationwide airport system capable of meeting civil aeronautics needs. The four-year project period accommodates design, construction, and closeout activities typical of airport infrastructure development initiatives.
