- This National Science Foundation Project Grant award of $222,648 provides funding for research in bilinear estimates in analysis and partial differential equations at Kansas State University from September 1, 2022 through August 31, 2025. The award supports investigation of central questions in the field of bilinear Fourier analysis, where pairs of signals are analyzed simultaneously. The research aims to contribute to new developments through exploring a suite of interrelated questions...
- The National Science Foundation Division of Mathematical Sciences awarded the University of Kansas Center For Research Inc. $110,000 on July 15, 2026, under the Mathematical and Physical Sciences program (CFDA 47.049) to investigate exact formulas of the KPZ fixed point and directed landscape and their applications to real-world random growth phenomena. The project derives novel exact formulas for the KPZ fixed point and directed landscape—universal limiting behaviors that govern models within...
- Federal Grant Award Summary The National Science Foundation's Division of Mathematical Sciences awarded $236,282 under the Mathematical and Physical Sciences program (CFDA 47.049) to the University of Kansas Center for Research Inc. for a three-year project (September 1, 2025 – August 31, 2028). This project grant supports research on integrable and non-integrable wave models under nonzero boundary conditions, addressing fundamental mathematical challenges in bounded domains across one and...
- The National Science Foundation Division of Mathematical Sciences awarded Colorado State University $160,000 on August 15, 2026, to support travel and participation at four Western Algebraic Geometry Symposium (WAGS) conferences held in December 2026, spring and fall 2027, and spring 2028. The grant funds participant travel and conference activities at WAGS meetings, a twice-yearly research conference series for algebraic geometry researchers in the western United States and beyond. The December...
- This Project Grant award of $293,046 from the National Science Foundation's (NSF) Division of Mathematical Sciences, under the Mathematical and Physical Sciences (CFDA 47.049) Federal Grant Program, supports fundamental research on higher-dimensional spaces and their applications. The principal investigator (PI) at Kansas State University (KSU) will investigate problems related to four-dimensional spaces, including detecting differences between smooth geometric objects and studying stabilization...
- Federal Project Grant Award Summary Kansas State University received a $232,711 Project Grant from the National Science Foundation's Division of Mathematical Sciences under the Mathematical and Physical Sciences program (CFDA 47.049), effective September 1, 2025 through August 31, 2028. The award supports fundamental research in multiplicative number theory, specifically investigating distribution questions in L-functions and multiplicative functions. The research program focuses on analyzing...
- Federal Project Grant Award Summary The National Science Foundation's Division of Mathematical Sciences awarded $220,000 under the Mathematical and Physical Sciences (CFDA 47.049) program to the University of Kansas Center for Research Inc. for a project titled "Wave Modulation & Stability in Applied Mathematics." This three-year project, which commenced on August 15, 2025 and concludes July 31, 2028, delivers fundamental research on the stability and dynamics of spatially periodic...
COLLABORATIVE RESEARCH: CONFERENCE: PRAIRIE ANALYSIS SEMINAR 2026-2027 -THIS AWARD SUPPORTS PARTICIPATION IN THE 2026 AND 2027 EDITIONS OF THE PRAIRIE ANALYSIS SEMINAR TO BE HELD AT UNIVERSITY OF KANSAS AND KANSAS STATE UNIVERSITY, RESPECTIVELY. ESTABLISHED IN 2001, THE PRAIRIE ANALYSIS SEMINAR IS A LONG-RUNNING JOINT INITIATIVE OF THE MATHEMATICS DEPARTMENTS AT KANSAS STATE UNIVERSITY AND THE UNIVERSITY OF KANSAS. THE SEMINAR BRINGS TOGETHER RESEARCHERS WORKING IN ANALYSIS AND PARTIAL DIFFERENTIAL EQUATIONS TO EXCHANGE IDEAS, PRESENT RECENT ADVANCES, AND FOSTER NEW COLLABORATIONS. A CENTRAL OBJECTIVE OF THE PROGRAM IS TO SUPPORT THE PROFESSIONAL DEVELOPMENT OF GRADUATE STUDENTS, POSTDOCTORAL RESEARCHERS, AND OTHER EARLY-CAREER MATHEMATICIANS BY PROVIDING OPPORTUNITIES TO PRESENT THEIR RESEARCH, INTERACT CLOSELY WITH ESTABLISHED EXPERTS, AND BUILD PROFESSIONAL CONNECTIONS. THE SEMINAR ALSO SEEKS TO BROADEN PARTICIPATION IN THE MATHEMATICAL SCIENCES BY ENCOURAGING ATTENDANCE FROM RESEARCHERS AT SMALLER COLLEGES AND UNIVERSITIES. EACH EDITION FEATURES INTERNATIONALLY RECOGNIZED RESEARCHERS WHOSE WORK HAS SIGNIFICANTLY INFLUENCED CONTEMPORARY DEVELOPMENTS IN ANALYSIS AND PARTIAL DIFFERENTIAL EQUATIONS. THE PROGRAM CONSISTS OF A SERIES OF INVITED LECTURES, INCLUDING A PRINCIPAL LECTURER WHO DELIVERS TWO ONE-HOUR PRESENTATIONS AND TWO ADDITIONAL INVITED SPEAKERS WHO EACH PRESENT A ONE-HOUR LECTURE. COMPLEMENTING THESE INVITED TALKS ARE CONTRIBUTED PRESENTATIONS BY GRADUATE STUDENTS, POSTDOCTORAL SCHOLARS, AND OTHER EARLY-CAREER PARTICIPANTS, AS WELL AS A COLLABORATIVE SESSION DEVOTED TO THE DISCUSSION OF OPEN RESEARCH PROBLEMS PROPOSED BY ATTENDEES. ADDITIONAL INFORMATION ABOUT THE PRAIRIE ANALYSIS SEMINAR IS AVAILABLE AT THE CONFERENCE WEBSITE: HTTPS://WWW.MATH.KSU.EDU/ABOUT/EVENTS/CONFERENCE/PAS/ THIS AWARD REFLECTS NSF'S STATUTORY MISSION AND HAS BEEN DEEMED WORTHY OF SUPPORT THROUGH EVALUATION USING THE FOUNDATION'S INTELLECTUAL MERIT AND BROADER IMPACTS REVIEW CRITERIA.- SUBAWARDS ARE NOT PLANNED FOR THIS AWARD.
