Description

As the agency reported it.

Provide funding for a replacement power washer trailer, which our cooperator uses to partner with the forest service, watersmeet township, and others to prevent and reduce the spread of aquatic invasive species (AIS) such as eurasian water milfoil. The cooperator is recognized as one of michigan's leaders in the fight against AIS, and since 2009 their work on the ground has helped educate boaters and spread awareness which increases the health and biodiversity of our connected waterways and supports ongoing recreation opportunities. This boat inspection work at public boat launches offers free boat and trailer washings, and the opportunity to make contact with boat owners and operators, which is the best way to educate and control the spread of aquatic invasive species. The equipment funded through this agreement is the most effective and efficient equipment to carry out these tasks.
