This $488,373 federal Project Grant awarded by the National Science Foundation (NSF) under the Integrative Activities program (CFDA 47.083) will enable the Florida Institute of Technology (Florida TECH) to acquire a new cryo-enabled scanning electron microscope (cryo-SEM). This advanced instrument will broadly support research and education across multiple disciplines at Florida TECH and its partner institutions, including Eckerd College, Winston-Salem University, and Eastern Florida State College. The cryo-SEM will facilitate investigations in areas such as space biology, drug delivery, tissue engineering, marine biofouling, and the development of thermal-resistant coatings. The award will also enable remote access and hybrid training for students at the partner institutions, enhancing the educational and research impact across the Southeastern United States. No sub-awards are planned under this grant.
