The National Science Foundation Office of Integrative Activities awarded Boise State University a $184,078 Project Grant under the Integrative Activities program (CFDA 47.083) to conduct a conference and workshops from March 2023 to February 2025. The university will lead two virtual pre-workshop micro labs and an in-person workshop for 120 participants to develop recommendations on strengthening partnerships between academic, private, and government communities. This will help translate basic science research into solutions benefiting society. The University of Hawaii at Manoa was awarded a $25,000 subgrant to co-lead workshop planning and recruit private sector partners. The events aim to identify shared interests, needs, and barriers among the three sectors and produce white papers outlining opportunities to accelerate use-inspired research and expand training opportunities in science-informed practices.
