The Louisiana Department of Agriculture and Forestry (LDAF) was awarded a $229,177 Project Grant from the U.S. Department of Agriculture Forest Service to implement the Emergency Forest Restoration Program in Louisiana from September 2021 through June 2025.
Under the Forest Stewardship Program (CFDA 10.678), LDAF will promote and enable the long-term active management of non-industrial private and other non-federal forest lands in Louisiana to sustain forest values and uses. Specifically, LDAF will work to restore forest lands damaged by natural disasters or other emergencies through reforestation, prescribed burns, and other forest management activities. The Forest Stewardship Program aims to maintain the economic, environmental, and social benefits provided by privately-owned forest lands across the United States.
