- This National Science Foundation project grant of $555,911 will support Johnson County Community College in developing and sustaining Course-Based Undergraduate Research Experiences (CUREs) across multiple science, technology, engineering and mathematics disciplines through September 2026. The funding advances the goals of the federal STEM Education program (CFDA 47.076) by promoting innovative and evidence-based practices in undergraduate STEM education at two-year colleges. Specifically, the...
- The National Science Foundation awarded Northeastern State University a $287,614 Project Grant under the STEM Education program (CFDA 47.076) to increase the use of course-based undergraduate research experiences (CUREs) in introductory STEM courses. The university aims to implement a workshop and fellowship program to engage faculty in developing new CUREs for their courses. Specifically, the grant will fund a workshop on CURE pedagogy and models for integration, as well as CURE fellowships for...
- This $349,789 federal Project Grant award from the National Science Foundation (NSF) STEM Education program (CFDA 47.076) aims to investigate how faculty professional identities are influenced through participating in course-based undergraduate research experience (CURE) community networks. The project will recruit and interview faculty from CURE community networks to examine how their professional identities as both researchers and instructors are impacted by engaging in these collaborative...
- This Project Grant from the National Science Foundation's STEM Education program, formerly known as Education and Human Resources (CFDA 47.076), provides $149,994 to Kennesaw State University Research And Service Foundation, Inc. for a capacity-building institutional transformation project. The project aims to develop and implement an institutional change model to enhance course-based undergraduate research experiences (CUREs) in STEM disciplines across the university. Specific goals include...
- This Project Grant award from the National Science Foundation (NSF) Division of Biological Infrastructure under the Biological Sciences program (CFDA 47.074) provides $250,000 over 5 years to Oregon State University to create a Research Coordination Network (RCN) that will develop four new Course-Based Undergraduate Research Experiences (CUREs) focused on topics such as bioinformatics, behavioral genetics, molecular biology, and developmental biology. The goal is to expand upon an existing...
- This $500,000 Project Grant from the National Science Foundation's STEM Education program (CFDA 47.076) will support the University of California Santa Cruz's implementation and evaluation of curricular undergraduate research experiences in the life sciences. The university will establish four new faculty-led course-based undergraduate research laboratories engaging up to 100 undergraduates, including those from underrepresented groups, in authentic research projects in molecular, cellular,...
This five-year, $280,952 project grant from the National Science Foundation's STEM Education program (CFDA 47.076) will support the development and assessment of course-based undergraduate research experiences (CUREs) using digitized natural history collection data across four institutions. Faculty from George Washington University, Widener University, Texas Tech University, and Westfield State University will collaborate to measure the impacts of these CUREs on student learning and science identity. Students who successfully complete the CUREs may participate in a mentored and financially supported cohort-based scientific conference experience, and the impacts of these conferences on further student gains will also be assessed. The project aims to produce a dataset documenting the impacts of CUREs and conference experiences on student learning in data science and geospatial skills, as well as on student perceptions of science identity and self-efficacy across institution types and student populations. Training materials for faculty and students will also be created to refine best practices for mentoring undergraduates through national conference experiences.
