This $658,799 project grant from the National Science Foundation's Computer and Information Science and Engineering program (CFDA 47.070) supports the development of an infrastructure for sustainable innovation and research in computer science education. A consortium of researchers from the University of Pittsburgh, Carnegie Mellon University, North Carolina State University, and Virginia Tech will collaborate to establish and maintain the Computer Science Education Hub.
The Hub will host community events, provide a web repository of computing education datasets, tools, and analysis methods. It aims to facilitate the creation and adoption of new tools and standards to support computing educators and students. The infrastructure is intended to advance computing education research through building community, creating data standards and datasets, developing advanced algorithms using AI/analytics, and rigorous evaluation methods. Discoveries enabled by the Hub have the potential to impact tens of thousands of students in computer science.
