This $149,985 project grant from the National Science Foundation's Computer and Information Science and Engineering program will fund research at Boston University on real-time liquid wireless networking for data-intensive rural applications from October 1, 2022 to September 30, 2025. The research aims to investigate a real-time liquid wireless networking framework to enable predictive, reliable delivery of data across heterogeneous rural wireless networks supporting applications like agriculture automation and online education. The project will generate measurement data and models of rural wireless access and backhaul links and disseminate results broadly within the research and education communities. If successful, the real-time liquid wireless networking approach is expected to become a foundational component of rural broadband solutions and transform industries and communities through enabling data-intensive applications over unpredictable rural wireless networks.
