MGS Enterprises Inc. received a $200,000 Project Grant award from the United States Department of Agriculture Agricultural Marketing Service under the Meat and Poultry Inspection Readiness Grants – Supplemental Funding program. The grant will support MGS Enterprises' expansion of its existing meat processing facility in Kirtland, New Mexico to better serve local livestock producers and allow for the employment of up to ten additional full-time employees. MGS Enterprises, a small, family-owned business established in 1991, will use the funding to increase processing and storage capacity. It will also provide training to a local technical high school to develop a workforce for the meat industry. The expanded facility will enable MGS Enterprises to supply more meat products to local restaurants and schools from livestock in the surrounding Four Corners region.
