The Island Grown Farmers Cooperative (IGFC) received a $939,928 Project Grant award from the US Department of Agriculture Agricultural Marketing Service under the Farmers Market and Local Food Promotion Program (FMLFPP). IGFC will develop online sales channels and work with regional food hubs to strengthen its retail network in response to COVID-19 impacts. Efficiency analyses and best practices developed will be shared nationwide with other small-scale meat producers through the Niche Meat Processor Assistance Network.
