The National Recreation and Park Association, Incorporated (NRPA) was awarded an $838,939.26 Project Grant from the United States Department of Agriculture Agricultural Marketing Service under the Farmers Market and Local Food Promotion Program (FMLFPP) to support the development, coordination and expansion of local and regional food systems. NRPA will utilize the three-year grant period ending September 2024 to advance opportunities connecting under-resourced populations with fresh, local foods through farmers markets and other direct producer-to-consumer initiatives located in optimal settings within local park and recreation agencies. The FMLFPP grant program aims to develop, coordinate and expand local and regional food systems through competitive awards as part of the broader Local Agriculture Market Program.
