The National Science Foundation Division of Computer and Network Systems awarded a $265,726 Project Grant to the New Jersey Institute of Technology from July 1, 2021 to September 30, 2022. The grant supports the "CNS CORE: SMALL: UBIVISION: UBIQUITOUS MACHINE VISION WITH ADAPTIVE WIRELESS NETWORKING AND EDGE COMPUTING" project under the Computer and Information Science and Engineering program (CFDA #47.070).
This project aims to advance the development of ubiquitous machine vision capabilities through adaptive wireless networking and edge computing. It will investigate approaches for distributed computer vision applications to operate effectively across wireless networks and edge devices in various environments. Insights from this work could enable new applications of computer vision in domains like smart cities and industrial IoT that require distributed sensing and processing capabilities.
