Michigan State University was awarded a $675,507 Project Grant from the National Science Foundation Division of Emerging Frontiers. The grant supports the research project "COLLABORATIVE RESEARCH: MIM: USING MULTILAYER INTERACTION NETWORKS TO PREDICT MICROBIOME ASSEMBLY AND FUNCTION" from October 1, 2021 to September 30, 2024.
The grant is part of the NSF's Biological Sciences program (CFDA 47.074), which aims to promote progress in the biological sciences and strengthen the nation's scientific enterprise through increasing scientific knowledge and understanding of major problems confronting the nation. Specifically, this award will fund research using multilevel interaction networks to predict microbiome assembly and function. The work will be performed at Michigan State University's campus in East Lansing, Michigan.
