Northern Arizona University received a $299,991 Project Grant award from the National Science Foundation Division of Environmental Biology on September 1, 2021 to evaluate the continuity of data streams recorded at collocated sites across biomes ranging from tundra to subtropics under the Biological Sciences program (CFDA 47.074). The three-year award will support analyzing data continuity between the National Ecological Observatory Network (NEON) and AmeriFlux sites to strengthen understanding of major biological issues. By comparing NEON and AmeriFlux measurements recorded at the same locations, NAU aims to assess the ability to link ecosystem observations across different observational networks. Insights gained from this work may help optimize long-term ecological data collection across diverse biomes.
