The Regents of the University of Minnesota received a $404,983 Project Grant award from the National Science Foundation on March 1, 2021 to support the REU SITE: HUMAN-CENTERED COMPUTING FOR SOCIAL GOOD program through February 29, 2024.
The grant supports the Computer and Information Science and Engineering program's goal of advancing research and education in computing, communications, and information science and engineering. Specifically, the University will use the funding to deliver a Research Experiences for Undergraduates program focused on applying human-centered computing approaches to address social issues. The program will provide research opportunities for undergraduate students to work with faculty and graduate students on projects that employ computing technologies to help communities and non-profits. The grant enables the University to administer this program through 2024 at its location in Minneapolis, Minnesota.
