The National Science Foundation awarded a $182,136 Project Grant to the University of California Santa Cruz under the Biological Sciences federal grant program (CFDA 47.074) for the period of September 1, 2021 through December 31, 2022. The grant funds the CAREER: Advancing a Macrosystems Framework for Climate-Phenology Coupling Through Integrated Research and Education project. The project aims to advance understanding of major problems confronting the nation by promoting progress in the biological sciences and strengthening the scientific enterprise through integrated research and education activities examining climate change impacts on species phenology. The University of California Santa Cruz will deliver the funded research and education programs focused on macrosystems modeling of climate-phenology coupling relationships with a goal of enhancing biological knowledge.
