The University of Idaho received a $235,738 Project Grant award under the USDA National Institute of Food and Agriculture's Crop Protection and Pest Management (CPPM) Competitive Grants Program (CFDA 10.329) to support its Integrated Pest Management (IPM) Extension Implementation Program. The program aims to sustain crop health and productivity, conserve pollinator habitat, and enhance the public value of IPM through education and outreach to farmers, homeowners, and communities across Idaho. Key activities include maintaining and creating resources to guide stakeholders on effective and safe pest management, such as websites, monitoring programs, newsletters, and in-person/virtual events. The program also provides pest diagnostic services to support accurate pest identification and monitoring statewide. This funding supports the university's efforts to coordinate IPM educational activities, utilize innovative outreach methods, and improve decision tools and information access to increase the adoption of IPM practices in Idaho's agricultural and community settings.
