Description

Awards issued prior to january 20, 2025, were funded under previous administrations and may not reflect the priorities and policies of the current administration.** porcine epidemic diarrhea virus (pedv) causes about $600 million economic losses each year to the PIG producers in the U.S. Despite much devoted efforts, to date, no vaccines are able to provide significant relief of the economic losses to the U.S. Swine industry inflicted by this virus. This project aims to utilize the cutting-edge nanotechnology to prepare vaccines against pedv. This vaccine will be safe, and its effectiveness in protecting the vulnerable newborn piglets from viral infection will be tested. If successful, the vaccine will help prevent and control the outbreaks of pedv in the united states.
