The Department of Veterans Affairs Veterans Health Administration awarded Center For Veterans Issues, Inc. (doing business as Homeless Veterans Project) $5,523,440 under the Supportive Services for Veteran Families Program (CFDA 64.033) effective October 1, 2025.
Center For Veterans Issues will provide outreach services, case management services, assistance in obtaining VA benefits, and assistance in obtaining and coordinating other public benefits to very low-income veteran families residing in permanent housing, homeless and scheduled to transition to permanent housing, or exiting permanent housing and seeking other housing responsive to their needs and preferences. The recipient may also provide temporary financial assistance paid directly to third parties on behalf of participants for child care, emergency housing assistance, transportation, rental assistance, utility-fee payment assistance, security deposits, utility deposits, moving costs, and general housing stability assistance including emergency supplies. Additional optional services include legal assistance and financial management services.
The award covers the period of October 1, 2025 through September 30, 2026, with performance in Wisconsin. This is a project grant, the standard assistance type under SSVF for nonprofit organizations delivering supportive services to very low-income veteran families transitioning to or sustaining permanent housing.
