THE MISSION OF FINNEY COUNTY RSVP, INC. IS TO STRENGTHEN AND FORM PARTNERSHIPS IN THE COMMUNITY BY PROVIDING A POOL OF VOLUNTEER RESOURCES THAT ADDRESS CRUCIAL NEEDS. ENABLING INDIVIDUALS 55 AND OLDER TO REMAIN ACTIVE IN THEIR COMMUNITY. AN ESTIMATED 212 RSVP VOLUNTEERS WILL SERVE AT 56 RSVP PARTNERING SITES THROUGHOUT FINNEY COUNTY. OF THIS NUMBER, 44 UNDUPLICATED RSVP VOLUNTEERS WILL BE PLACED IN OUTCOME ASSIGNMENTS. THE CNCS FEDERAL INVESTMENT OF $40,000 FOR 2019-2020 WILL BE SUPPLEMENTED BY $41,320 OF NON-FEDERAL FUNDING. HEALTHY FUTURES, CAPACITY BUILDING AND ECONOMIC OPPORTUNITY ARE THE PRIMARY FOCUS AREAS OF THIS VOLUNTEER PROJECT WITH OUR VOLUNTEERS PROVIDING SUPPORT AND PARTICIPATING IN ACTIVITIES THAT INCLUDE: LOCAL NUTRITION SITES, TAX PREPARATION, MEDICARE PART D HEALTH PLANS REVIEW/COUNSELING, LEVERAGING IN-KIND OR CASH DONATIONS AND OTHER COMMUNITY NEEDS. OUTCOMES ARE MEASURED WITH RESEARCH-BASED AND EVIDENCE-INFORMED METHODS, INCLUDING SURVEYS AND SITE STATION RECORDS. CONFIRMATION OF NEEDS IS OBTAINED FROM THE KANSAS CENSUS, STATE STANDARD TEST RESULTS, COMMUNITIES THAT CARE, USD 457, IRS, AND LOCAL UNIVERSITY-BASED RESEARCH. ANTICIPATED OUTCOMES INCLUDE: NUTRITIOUS MEALS PROVIDED, AND A SOCIAL ENVIRONMENT CREATED FOR THE ELDERLY, HOME-BOUND AND LOW-INCOME FAMILIES, WHICH ADDRESS ACCESS TO HEALTHFUL FOODS AND SOCIAL ISOLATION. INCOME TAX PREPARATION AND MEDICARE PART D COUNSELING PROVIDED TO NON-ENGLISH SPEAKING, ELDERLY AND LOW TO MODERATE INCOME INDIVIDUALS AND FAMILIES.
