The National Endowment for the Arts (NEA) awarded $926,083 to the State of Kansas Department of Commerce under the Promotion of the Arts Partnership Agreements program (CFDA 45.025) for the performance period of July 1, 2025 through June 30, 2026. This Project Grant supports arts programs, services, and activities aligned with the Department of Commerce's NEA-approved strategic plan. As a state arts agency, the Kansas Department of Commerce will utilize these funds to develop and maintain partnerships that advance the NEA's mission of promoting artistic excellence, arts education, and public access to the arts throughout the state.
The award encompasses general funding for execution of the agency's strategic plan and designated funding for folk and traditional arts initiatives, arts education programs, and outreach to underserved communities. The Department of Commerce, functioning as Kansas's state arts agency, will leverage this funding to support comprehensive arts programming including exhibitions, performances, educational projects, and community engagement efforts. Grant-related records must be retained for three years following submission of the Final Federal Financial Report, and funding remains subject to annual review and approval by the NEA.
