About this award
The Fulton County Superior Court in Atlanta, Georgia was awarded a $1,000,000 Project Grant from the U.S. Department of Justice's Bureau of Justice Assistance under the Treatment Court Discretionary Grant Program (CFDA 16.585). The purpose of this 4-year grant is to expand the capacity of Fulton County's adult treatment courts to fully integrate evidence-based peer mentoring services. This will serve an estimated 260 total participants, including those in the existing 18-24 month track and a new 12-month diversion track that will provide substance abuse services to a high-need/moderate-risk population that previously lacked access. The expected outcomes include increased program enrollment, improved treatment compliance, reduced recidivism, and decreased substance use among participants, leading to better long-term recovery.
