About this award

This federal Project Grant award, provided by the U.S. Department of Justice's Bureau of Justice Assistance under the Community-Based Violence Intervention and Prevention Initiative (CFDA 16.045), will enable St. Joseph's University Medical Center (SJUMC) to enhance its existing Paterson Healing Collective (PHC) community-based violence intervention and prevention program.

The $2,000,000 grant, with a project period from October 1, 2024 to September 30, 2027, will support SJUMC's partnership with Reimagining Justice Inc. to engage high-risk individuals aged 14-40 in Paterson, New Jersey. The project aims to prevent violent incidents, provide trauma-informed mental health support to survivors of violence, enhance community awareness and involvement in violence prevention, and deliver comprehensive programming to support personal development and conflict resolution.
