Description
The objective of this proposal is to mitigate the issues of lack of integration expertise and incomplete data exchange that is slowing the growth of CSD by using asap 5.0 standards and by better controlling how data is introduced into the database. The plan is to first develop tools to cleanly capture, verify and maintain the reliability of prescription order data; with a data integration layer for pharmacy submissions. Simultaneously, utah will simplify data reception by developing and implementing a submission tool to replace one provided by a vendor. Second, we intend to expand the use and adoption of the CSD through improved data analytics and front-end connectivity. This goal will make the information in the CSD much more accessible through developing analytical tools to provide knowledge that efficiently use single sign-on, analytics dashboards, and unsolicited report tracking. Finally, plan to ensure the long-term viability of the CSD. This goal will be achieved through researching the value and implementation methods for in-house electronic controlled substance prescribing (e-prescribing) and best practices for the integration of medical cannabis dispensing data. This is anticipating several highly beneficial outcomes from achieving these goals: simplifying data reception and improving data quality by developing and implementing a reliable integrated pharmacy order submission tool; enhancing the availability of CSD data to authorized prescribers for decision-making through new analytics dashboards; and finally, upgrading the CSD systems to the asap 5.0 standard for future interoperability.
