The requested funding will provide high definition cameras on the interior and exterior of all buildings in the menifee county school district

The Menifee County Fiscal Court was awarded a $529,000 project grant from the Department of Justice Office of Justice Programs Bureau of Justice Assistance under the Congressionally Recommended Awards program (CFDA 16.753) to install security cameras and card access systems in all buildings of the Menifee County School District. Funding will support the placement of high definition interior and exterior cameras on all district buildings, as well as card access systems on all external doors. Technology and security staff will receive training to manage the new equipment and oversee daily operations. The grant period runs from March 15, 2022 through September 30, 2023. Given limited local funding for security, this federal assistance will allow the district to exceed safety standards for students through enhanced security technology that would otherwise not be feasible without outside support.

Card access will also be installed on all external doors in the district. This funding will ensure safety standards are not only met, but exceeded for the children in our community. Technology and security staff will be trained on all equipment and will manage the day to day operations. Due to limited funding in our county, this type of security will never be possible without outside support. IT is with that thought, that we respectfully request funding in the amount of $529,000 to complete this project.
