The purpose of the cops office school violence prevention program (svpp) is to improve security at schools and on school grounds through school safety programs and technology

The Community Oriented Policing Program (COPS) at the Department of Justice awarded Bald Knob School District $222,148 on October 1, 2025, under the School Violence Prevention Program (CFDA 16.071) to implement evidence-based school security improvements. The award runs through September 30, 2028.

The Bald Knob Special School District will use funding to enhance school security through activities including coordination with local law enforcement, training for law enforcement officers to prevent student violence, placement and use of metal detectors and other deterrent measures, and acquisition and installation of technology for expedited emergency notification. The program authorizes funding for any additional measure determined by the COPS Office Director to provide significant security improvement.

Performance occurs in Bald Knob, Arkansas. The recipient must submit semiannual programmatic performance reports and quarterly SF-425 federal financial reports, with final closeout reporting at program end. COPS Office monitoring may include site visits, office-based reviews, and surveys to verify compliance with nonsupplanting requirements, programmatic and financial conditions, and consistency between purchases and the approved award budget.

Funding under this award program will be used by the school jurisdiction to implement evidence-based programs to improve school security.
