About this award
The Tucson Police Department (TPD), in partnership with Goodwill of Southern Arizona, has been awarded a $175,000 Project Grant from the U.S. Department of Justice's Public Safety Partnership and Community Policing Grants program (CFDA 16.710) to implement a Community Violence Intervention (CVI) ecosystem called the Village Program. The grant, with a period of performance from October 1, 2024, to September 30, 2026, will allow TPD and Goodwill to hire a CVI case/data manager, maintain an updated list of local service providers, and institutionalize Village program procedures for referrals, case management, and data auditing. The goal is to provide outreach and supportive services to young people ages 12-24 at high risk of gun violence involvement in the Tucson area. Goodwill Industries of Southern Arizona, Inc. has been named as a sub-grantee to support the Village program's workforce development and community support services.
