Description
As a result of these recent audits, several concerning safety violations were noted. Unfortunately, due to a low tax rate inside a tax capped county, we lack access to funding to correct these violations. Our goal is to keep students and employees safe. Our objective is to prevent loss of life; become proactive and secure; and notify students and employees of emergencies. Center cass agrees to properly install new equipment and have the equipment checked and maintained. All items inside the grant proposal have been identified as concerns from either state or local bodies. Our goal is to: replace exterior doors at lakeview JR high (grades 6-8) which do not shut properly; install 3M security film on lower windows to delay or prevent unwanted access; replace failing intercom systems at prairieview elementary (grades 3-5) so communication can flow; replace aging visitor driver's license scan system to ensure safety inside school; install access card readers on doors by parking lots to maintain access control; replace badge system so employees have proper ID which doubles as card access; add exterior lighting for visibility to prevent accidents and discourage unlawful activity; replace failing exterior lighting for the same reason above; add camera systems as a preventative deterrent, restorative tool, and give law enforcement a real-time view in an emergency; add monitors to maintain visibility at all entrances including front doors; replace faltering intruder alarm system to maintain ability to keep building secure; add fencing to elizabeth IDE elementary school (grades PK-2) to keep our youngest children from wandering off and keep strangers and animals away during outside learning and activity.
