The indiana law enforcement accreditation commission (ileac) administers the development of a set standard of standards and best practices for agencies across the state of indiana

Ileac is seeking in cops to expand our capacity to outreach and assist agencies and departments seeking accreditation, enhance the quality and documentation of our program to poise for growth, and grow our marketing and outreach to agencies across the state to increase accreditation interest and attainment. With this funding, ileac will create policies and procedures and document processes specifically for hospital and school police departments. In addition to the specialized standard development and documentation, we would like to create more resources and procedure documentation to offer across all agencies to make the accreditation process easier. We also propose hiring a part-time accreditation coach with this funding. As a further measure to reduce barriers, we would provide fee cost-matching to agencies in need to alleviate financial barriers and incentive accreditation. The cops funding will allow US to help at least 20 additional agencies become accredited during the period of performance but enhance our staff expertise and capacity to assist with growing accreditation achievement well past the grant period of performance.
